Donald Trump is racist. However, he is not racist in a way that most people(Trump supporters) can hear, see or comprehend. His racism is far more insidious and destructive. In short, any fool can say the ‘n-word’. However, true power is being able to turn the ignorance of one individual into a collective movement that unites an undercurrent of ignorance and discrimination. Thus, true power is the ability to use your ignorant beliefs to influence the lives of millions of people. That is racism as a system. This is why Trump is the worst kind of racist.
However, Donald Trump says he is the ‘least racist person ever’ and many people seem to believe him. The fact that you would be hard pressed to find some Donald Sterling type audio tape of him calling Black people N*ggers or any other racist phrase is why some people will say he is not racist. The fact that Donald Trump has Black celebrity friends, poses with Black people and even has an award for diversity, all of this evidence, acts as people’s defense of Donald Trump. This is despite his many statements, actions and policies that suggestion that he benefits from promoting racism and uses his position of power to influence those people who are obviously racist.
In reality, individually one racist person has very little power. Yes, they can harass and insult you and they can even attack and kill people. However, they can only impact the limited amount of people that they come into contact with. Therefore, their true power comes when they are united with other like-minded individuals. This is why racist people appear either in anonymity or in groups like KKK, Nazi, Neo-Nazi, Alt-Right, BNP, National Front and racists by any other name.
Alt-Right chants of ‘Hail Trump, Hail Trump’ act as proof that Donald Trump was able to become a demi-god for these groups and use their collective ignorance to help him gain the presidency. To me, that makes him the worst kind of racist.
Racism is a system and elite people often control, provoke and benefit from maintaining that system, at least keeping people distracted from the real issues in their lives or making preferential choices based on race. However, it would be fair to say that video can be perceived as more opinion that fact.
So, for all those commenting ‘where’s the facts?’ Most people already know what he has said about Mexicans and Muslims. Here are some of his lesser known revealing statements and events.
Donald Trump’s campaign was the Southern Strategy 2016 edition.
Donald Trump ran a successful campaign by provoking fear and ignorance. He seduced poor working class voters with the rhetoric and claim he will ‘Make America Great Again’. This claim was juxtaposed with statements and claims that Mexicans are rapists and criminals, Muslims hate America, Muslims needed to be banned from entering America, ‘The Blacks’ have nothing to lose, everything Obama has done was terrible and immigrants will be kicked out of America by the millions.
Essentially, trump took Nixon’s Southern Strategy and gave it a 2016 revamp.
In American politics, southern strategy refers to methods the Republican Party used to gain political support in the South by appealing to the racism against African Americans harbored by many southern white voters.
As the African American Civil Rights Movement and dismantling of Jim Crow laws in the 1950s and 1960s visibly deepened pre-existing racial tensions in much of the Southern United States, Republican politicians such as presidential candidate Richard Nixon and Senator Barry Goldwater developed strategies that successfully contributed to the political realignment of many white, conservative voters in the South to the Republican Party that had traditionally supported the Democratic Party’.
This strategy has helped Republican candidates be able to keep control of the majority of voters in the south. Trump essentially doubled down on this strategy. It was made easier by the Republican Party and the media constantly attacking and blocking the first Black President Barack Obama for 8 years. Their collected efforts laid the foundation for the alt-right, rise of KKK and their lord and savior Donald Trump.
Donald Trump has already placed white Supremacists, Islamaphobic and known racists in his Cabinet
Donald Trump has assembled what potentially looks like the horseman of the racist-apocalypse. National Urban League President Marc Morial has said
“Every American should be concerned about the direction of the U.S. Department of Justice and oppose any nominee who threatens to turn back the clock on civil rights by 50 years,”
Carl Paladino: ‘The New York co-chair of President-elect Donald Trump’s campaign made racist and sexist comments about first lady Michelle Obama in a recent interview, suggesting that she was really a man and should live in Africa.
In an interview with ArtVoice published Friday, Carl Paladino said that in 2017 the thing he would most like to see go away was Michelle Obama.
“I’d like her to return to being a male and let loose in the outback of Zimbabwe where she lives comfortably in a cave with Maxie, the gorilla,” he said.’
‘Jeff Sessions, Trump’s new attorney general, originally had the political profile of a white reactionary Alabama politician in the Old South mode. The Senate rejected his bid for a federal judgeship in 1986 over a series of racist remarks he’d made, some of which he confirmed. Sessions called the NAACP “un-American” and accused it of “forcing civil rights down the throats of people,” and he allegedly called a black lawyer “boy” and warned him to be careful how he addressed white people.
Michael Flyn– ‘singular belief that lies at the core of Flynn’s worldview is indiscriminate hatred of Islam’.
Steve Bannon, Trump’s chief strategist, has attracted perhaps the most controversy. That Bannon’s ex-wife has testified to his hatred of Jews has attracted a great deal of attention, but this fact both over- and understates the racial nature of his beliefs. Bannon’s journalistic work is centrally dedicated to the task of refashioning conservatism along white-identity lines. His publication, Breitbart News, has promoted the “alt-right.” Breitbart itself defines the alt-right as a more intelligent version of skinheads.
Donald Trump’s father was arrested at a Klu Klux Klan rally in 1927
Do the sin’s of the father become the sins of the son? In this case most likely. However, just as it isn’t fair to judge Hillary Clinton by Bill Clinton’s actions maybe it is not fair to judge Trump by his father. However, both Trump and his father were sued for discriminating against Black people looking to rent their apartments. Moreover, Trump’s association with the KKK is not just in reference to his father’s arrest.
Donald Trump is endorsed by the Klu Klux Klan
Donald Trump was endorsed by David Duke and in a KKK Newspaper with this statement:
“Make America Great Again!” It is a slogan that has been repeatedly used by Donald Trump in his campaign for the presidency. You can see it on the shirts, buttons, posters and ball caps such as the one being worn here by Trump speaking at a recent rally…. But can it happen? Can America really be great again? This is what we will soon found out! While Trump wants to make America great again, we have to ask ourselves, ‘What made America great in the first place?’ The short answer to that is simple. America was great not because of what our forefathers did — but because of who are forefathers were, America was founded as a White Christian Republic. And as a White Christian Republic it became great.”
Donald Trump is endorsed by the Alt-Right
If Donald Trump’s campaign was the 2016 version of the 1960/70s Southern Strategy, then the Alt-right are the 2016 version of the KKK. Just as Donald Trump is racist, but not in a way easily understood by some, so are the Alt-Right.
It is no surprise their name sounds like a command on a keyboard. The Alt-Right are the equivalent of your standard racist, sexist and anti-multiculturalism troll finding other trolls and hiring a conference hall to talk about what they would usual type anonymously. The difference is in 2016 there is little need to wear a hood, all a person need to do is put a hood over their words. By hiding your true meaning in phrases, ‘pepe the frog’ memes and insinuation, a person can express their racist or at least discriminatory words in an anti-Political correct way that is PC enough to not be easily called the new KKK.
This video from their latest conference shows Richard Spencer repeatedly saying ‘Hail Trump’ and his followers using the Nazi Salute in admiration of his speech soaked in supremacist undertones.
“The alt-right is here, the alt-right is not going anywhere and the alt-right is going to change the world,” Richard Spencer
Donald Trump was Alt-Right before the Alt-Right were Alt-Right
The Alt-Right argue that white people especially white men are the oppressed majority in America. They argue that diversity and affirmative action has hindered white men.
In 1989, Donald Trump told Bryant Gumbel in an interview, “A well-educated black has a tremendous advantage over a well-educated white in terms of the job market…if I was starting off today, I would love to be a well-educated black, because I really do believe they have the actual advantage today. “ In fact, all the serious studies refuted that. However, his statement did serve as a kind of shout-out to those who were ignorant about the racial dynamics in the U.S. economy.
Trump’s claims may well have planted the seed in many Alt-Right supporter’s minds about their mythical subjugation and oppression.
Donald Trump’s apartments were sued twice for not renting to Black people
Richard Nixon’s Justice Department sued Donald Trump and his father for systematically discriminating against Black people in housing rentals.
New York times Reported:
‘To prove the discrimination, blacks were repeatedly dispatched as testers to Trump apartment buildings to inquire about vacancies, and white testers were sent soon after. Repeatedly, the black person was told that nothing was available, while the white tester was shown apartments for immediate rental’.
As I state in the video, Trump isn’t the in your face type racist- they hold no power and little consequence. Having the ability to decide if someone can have a home or not is power. Choosing to not rent to Black people is racism ie making a conscious systemic decision that Black people are ‘not good enough’ to live in your apartment.
Donald Trump Campaigned For Black and Latino Men To be Executed- Later Proved To Be Wrongful Convicted
The New York Times reported ‘Another revealing moment came in 1989, when New York City was convulsed by the “Central Park jogger” case, a rape and beating of a young white woman. Five black and Latino teenagers were arrested.
Trump stepped in, denounced Mayor Ed Koch’s call for peace and bought full-page newspaper ads calling for the death penalty. The five teenagers spent years in prison before being exonerated. In retrospect, they suffered a modern version of a lynching, and Trump played a part in whipping up the crowds.’
Donald Trump was the President Of The Birther Movement Against President Barack Obama
In 2011, Trump seized upon the conspiracy theory that suggested that Barack Obama was not an American citizen. This so-called “birther” idea had been discredited as false, and it was widely seen as a racially charged insult and had been abandoned by other leading Republicans including Senator Richard Shelby of Alabama and Rep. Roy Blount of Missouri.
Trump took up the cause with relish. He also delivered innuendo about the president’s academic record and admission to Columbia University Harvard Law School, implying that he was academically unworthy but benefitted from affirmative action.
Donald Trump once said “Black guys counting my money! I hate it” and more demands on black staff…
In a 1991 book by John O’Donnell, who had been president of Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City. O’Donnell quoted Trump saying
“ Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys wearing yarmulkes… Those are the only kind of people I want counting my money. Nobody else…Besides that, I tell you something else. I think that’s guy’s lazy. And it’s probably not his fault because laziness is a trait in blacks.”
O’Donnell’s report was shocking, but Trump did not contest it at the time. In 1997 he was interviewed for Playboy by author Mark Bowden and he confirmed that the O’Donnell book was “probably true.” O’Donnell wrote that for months afterward, Trump pressed him to fire the black accountant, until the man resigned of his own accord.
In the 1980s, according to a former Trump casino worker, Kip Brown, who was quoted by The New Yorker: “When Donald and Ivana came to the casino, the bosses would order all the black people off the floor. … They put us all in the back.”
‘The New Jersey Casino Control Commission fined the Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino $200,000 in 1992 because managers would remove African-American card dealers at the request of a certain big-spending gambler. A state appeals court upheld the fine.
The first-person account of at least one black Trump casino employee in Atlantic City suggests the racist practices were consistent with Trump’s personal behavior toward black workers.’ Huffington Post
Donald Trumps Social Media Activist- Retweeting other’s racist views
Trump’s twitter account is infamous for rants unbefitting of a grown man or future President Of United States of America. However, his twitter feed has been more than just rants and moans. Trump has often retweeted white supremacists accounts and picture. The best example is his ‘retweet of a graphic suggesting that 81 percent of white murder victims are killed by blacks (the actual figure is about 15 percent)’
This is an example of Donald Trump being happy to profit notoriety from spreading misinformation or anti-truth posts. Once again minorities are the people whom are generalized and demonized in these types of posts.
Bull Sh*t reasons people give for Donald Trump being the ‘least racist person ever’
Donald Trump Cannot Be Racist He Won An Award For Diversity- Ellis Award
Donald Trump supporters will point to this award and the subsequent picture with Rosa Parks and Muhammad Ali as proof positive Donald Trump is the least racist person ever.
The same people who argue Donald Trump is not racist. Often quickly state, ‘Hillary Clinton is the True racist!’ Yet, they use Donald Trump’s Ellis Award from the 80s as evidence of him secretly being an all-welcoming champion of racial harmony, diversity and equality. Yet, Hillary Clinton has received the same award and most likely has even more pictures with Black people. So receiving an Award and having Black celebrity friends is not the Trump card in proving someone is not racist or at least promotes racism for their own personal gain. Remember, Trump isn’t the call you a N*gga Type of racist!
Donald Trump is ‘the least racist person ever’ he has black friends…
Donald Trump does not have Black friends. He has celebrity friends whom happen to be Black. There is a big difference. Most people like to say they are friends with celebrities regardless of whether they care about them or what they do. Trump may well be genuine friends with some of these Black celebrities. But Donald Sterling had Black Friends and Black players in his NBA basketball team; that did not stop him from being racist did it? Plenty of Slave owners even raped Black women and had interracial children. That does not stop them from being racist, does it? Dylan Roof literally had a Black friend try to compartmentalize his killing of 9 Black people. Yet, that does not mean Dylan roof was not racist. Therefore, nor does Trump’s pictures with Black celebrities make him out to be a friend of Black people.
It is too late to do anything about Donald Trump’s past or even what he says in the present. However, people can impact what he can or chooses to do in the future.
That future will be determined by whether he serves 4 or 8 years. I believe that in order for people to see progression they need to create a dialogue with the Trump supporters and find out what their issues are. Some of them won’t listen. Some of them won’t change their mind. However, some will. Just as Martin Luther King Jr was most likely told at some point that there was no point dreaming. We must also dream of a better future and work towards much like the example set before us by the civil rights leaders as old.
We need to take the ‘Yes we can’ and emphasize the ‘We’.
With that said maybe Trump might surprise people and not be so bad… Actually, what am I saying! Trump cabinet choices are already pretty bad. So, Trump and his whole team will need to go against their collective racist, anti-semetic, xenophobic and sexist CVs in order to prove me and other ‘woke’ people wrong!
